Another thing you need to avoid is training too hard when you’re actually at the gym. It’s great that you can squeeze out one 200 pound rep while bench-pressing, but does that mean you should? Probably not. It’s things like this that just about guarantee you will get hurt. What many people don’t realize about weight training is that you don’t need to go crazy in order to see results. In fact, going too hard too quickly will keep your muscles in a perpetual state of exhaustion with no time to recover.

Not Knowing The Exercises

Last but not least, doing exercises without actually knowing how to do them is another big no-no when it comes to weight training. Not only will you be training your muscles in a way that they weren’t intended to be trained, but this could actually result in injury. The deadlift, for example, is infamous for its difficulty and is known to cause injury for many beginners.
